On 13 January 2014, Google announced that it was acquiring Nest Labs for $3.2 Billion cash. The next day, Google acquired Nest Labs and buy Dropcam for $555 Million. Not to mention, Dropcam integrated other Nest Products such as Thermostat and Nest protect. In September 2014, it started selling Nest Thermostat and Nest Protect in Belgium, France, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Later in June 2015, Nest Cam replaced Dropcam.
Nest Learning Thermostat: It is an electronic, programmable, and self-learning Wi-Fi-enabled thermostat. It optimizes the heating and cooling of homes and offices to save energy.
Nest Protect: It is the second product of the Nest and it detects smoke and carbon monoxide. Black and white are the color options for it.
Nest Cam Indoor: Well, Nest Cam Indoor is the upgraded version of the Dropcam (security camera). Further, it has several features such as 1080p video resolution, a rotating and magnetic stand, night vision. two-way talk sound and many other features which is crucial for security.
Nest Cam Outdoor: It is the outdoor version of Nest Cam. Moreover, the difference between Nest Door Indoor and Outdoor is that it is designed to withstand outdoor conditions.
Nest Cam IQ: It is the premium version of Nest Cam Indoor which features a 4K camera sensor with HDR. Furthermore, it also has the ability to recognize between different faces. It was announced in June 2017.
Nest Secure: It is a home security system that consists of an alarm, keypad, and motion sensor with a microphone. In addition, it also connects with Google’s assistant.
Nest Hello: It is another famous product of Nest. It is a hardwired smart video doorbell with facial recognition.

In February 2012, Honeywell filed a lawsuit against Nest. Honeywell claimed that Nest has infringed their patents. Similarly, Allure Energy also filed a patent lawsuit on 14 May 2013.
In May 2016, an employee filed an unfair labor practice charge. According to the employee, the Nest terminated him for posting information about Tony Fadell’s poor leadership.
