Change your Outlook password

While you’re on the Outlook website, click your initials to the far top right of the screen. Then select ‘my account’ from the menu that appears to the side.

Now, the Outlook will take you to your main Microsoft account settings menu. Select ‘Security’ from the grid that appears. In the security menu click the second option for ‘password security’. After that, there will be prompt to verify that it’s you using your phone. Then you need to enter the last few digits of your phone number and click ‘send’. Furthermore, enter the seven digit code that has been sent to your smartphone.

After that, again there will be prompt to enter your current password, then your new password twice. Once you hit ‘Save’ this will become your new password. And from now on you have to start using this new password whenever you want to access Outlook.

Reset your password

In case you forgot your Outlook password, you can reset your password from the log-in screen. When you’re at the screen to put your password, just click ‘Forgotten your password?’ below.

Now there will be prompt to verify your account. The process is same as the process of changing your password as mentioned above. The only difference is that you won’t be asked to enter your current password when creating a new one. Instead you just have to enter your new password. Once you have entered your new password, you will be access your account using this password. But, make sure you won’t forget this new password.
