Humans are becoming more and more dependent on technology with every passing moment. As we move towards technologically advanced world, there’s always one or more inventions or concepts/theories coming into existence every day. Internet of Things (IoT) is one of such concepts. The term IoT was first coined in 1999, since then, a lot has been achieved from this technology.
IoT refers to system of interconnected devices that are provided with unique identifiers. It has the ability to send and receive data without human intervention. One of its simple yet important use is to gather data from radioactive or faraway places; where humans can’t stay long or reach. Hence, it has simplified risky tasks for the us.
IoT has slowly taken over our lives, be it automating our home lights or industry assembling processes. Now, there is more to look forward to in this arena of automation/machine intelligence. Internet of Everything (IoE) is one of the newest concept on the rise. It is based on the idea that in future world devices would not only be limited to laptops, mobiles, etc. It would, rather, be a collection of more connected and intelligent devices; having access to complex data and extended networks. As per Cisco, who first coined the term IoE, it brings people, data, and things together to make networked connections more valuable. Therefore, one can take it as the future of IT.
As the name suggests, Internet of Everything includes every possible things or aspects available to make automation system a complete one. Therefore, it is regarded as the subset of IoT. And, with no doubt, IoE will serve to make industry processes better than ever; ultimately bettering lives of people and improving business outcomes.
