Have you ever wished for a hassle free carry on keyboard? Or wanted to be in the world of American Fantasy movie like Avengers, where you can control everything through gestures? Samsung’s new product has got this for you. This game-changing virtual keyboard, Samsung “SelfieType”, is now on the verge of becoming commercially available.
SelfieType uses your selfie camera to track your finger gestures so as to create a virtual keyboard experience. All you need to do is to place your mobile in upright position and start typing! It requires no additional hardware like in other projects by different companies.
Although there are multiple products which fall under “Virtual Keyboard” categories, they have not been able to satisfy the users. So, this project is definitely going be a challenge for some of the major software companies.
Samsung SelfieType Working:
Mobile phones have indeed replaced desktops/laptops for no. of works, but when it comes to typing long emails or writing an article or report, users still turn back to desktops. It is because users are comfortable to typing in a wide keyboard space. Even after much of technological progress in mobile technology, there is still a drawback of needing to type in a small keyboard. Some of the companies have acknowledged this user difficulty for typing and have come up with range of different virtual keyboards for the user’s aid. However, maximum solutions ended up in users needing to carry additional accessories. SelfieType, on the brighter side, uses the front facing camera of the mobile and, along with AI, tracks the finger movement of the users. It completely eliminated the need to carrying additional accessories and therefore, easy usability feature for users.
