Reliance recently introduced their all-new Mixed Reality solution, Jio Glass during their 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 15 July 2020. According to the Reliance team, Jio Glass focuses on teachers and students to enter 3D virtual rooms and conduct holographic classes through MRS (Mixed Reality Service) in real-time.
Apart from it, it is for virtual meetings. During the Annual General Meeting, Aakash and Isha Ambani showed how Jio Glass features will help improve meetings and virtual learning. Further, Aakash showed the 3D Avatar of himself and Isha used a 2D video call conference as well.
The president of Reliance Industries Limited, Kiran Thomas stated, “Jio Glass is at the cutting edge of technology that provides best-in-class Mixed Reality services to give users a truly meaningful immersive experience” during the speech.
Details Of Jio Glass
Well, Jio Glass is the follow-up project of a Holoboard Mixed Reality Headset which was showcased during RIL AGM 2019. Moving ahead, it weighs 75 grams and it needs to connect to a smartphone with a cable for power supply. Furthermore, it will have 25 in-built apps to allow augmented reality video meetings, and more. As per the sources, it will be priced at 14,000 Rs in India.
Even though they RIL haven’t revealed its specifications but they did mention that it will be running on 5G services. As a matter of fact, Jio is the official partner of Google for its products. So, both companies will collaborate with each other and develop the product in the near future.
