Are you in a dilemma about how to make sure that your children are surfing Safe Online or not? Most of the children nowadays are highly drawn towards digital technology. There are numerous ways that children can stay connected with the computer and the internet.

With numerous options like YouTube, E-Learning, Gaming, and social media, children have now a new place to hang out.  Besides all the positive impacts, the internet can be a dangerous place for children. Some of the contents on unusual websites can be inappropriate and bad influences.

The young mind can easily be affected by online bullying, adult content web or any sort of unknown or unusual contact. In that case, there are some solutions needed to be done to protect the kids from such unwanted activities. Even some personal advice from parents could prevent the kids to stay away from virtual danger.

Communicate with children

Parents should have a conversation with their children and be honest face to face. They should be vocal about the dangers and negative impacts that they might suffer from the use of digital gadgets and excessive use of computers. It is important to make a friendly conversation so that both parents and children will have a sense of the word for each other.

Space for the computer at home

If your kids have a mobile, laptop or a computer in their room, they are likely to use it all the time. In such cases, place your family’s desktops and other connected devices in the living area. Make sure to set usage limits and time.

Be aware of where they use computers:

Children are very easy to be distracted by anyone who is using a computer or mobile. Parents should check if they are using other computers and why they’re using it. These occur either in their friend’s house or school computer labs.

Check the Browser history to assure Safe Online for Children:

If they have been on the internet for a long period, parents should check their browser history to see if they’re viewing unusual websites. Also, they should check the Recycle bin if they’ve deleted such files.

Set a time for online

It’s important to observe your child’s time online, especially the younger ones, to make sure they do not seek any bad habits. Set reasonable time for them, when they can use and for how long they should use. Also, the Wi-Fi should be available for usage limits.

Teach them to stay private for safe online

Children often share pictures with their family members on social media. This is one of the biggest risks of cybercrime. Once the identity is stolen by theft, then it may lead to many unwanted activities, even if it was used temporarily.

You should teach your child to be aware while sharing any family related posts or pictures. Parents should make sure that they have kept their profile on private and have added only those who are close. Rather than posting pictures on social media, persuade them to be careful and keep it private from settings.
